Jacob Ouillette's paintings

Jacob Ouillette's paintings are like pinwheels or solid bricks of colour. Beach umbrellas, quilt patterns, colour swatches - all the individual elements work together like cogs to create relationships that form the whole. These large scale oils become mesmerizing, and the site-specific ones are spectacular. Verve, movement and asymmetry make Ouillette's paintings lively without being overwhelming.

TOILET BRUSH AND HOLDER

This wooden toilet brush with natural fibre bristles comes with a galvanised bucket holder. A decent wooden toilet brush is hard to come by, I think this one does the job! from my favorite shop in london LABOUR AND WAIT
Townhouse in Landskrona. Sweden

The narrow site is sandwiched between very old neighboring buildings. Three thin slabs are projected into the open volume, softly dividing its functions. The continuous interior space is opening up to the street, to an intimate garden, and to the sky, would love to live like that

Who knew ?

For a geometric touch of grey in the living room, look no further than Ikea's Andrea rug. The hand-woven, 100% pure new wool floor covering has a naturally durable thick pile that will withstand daily wear and tear.

wall mirror by sahrah t. kang

This clever sliver of a mirror takes the shape of a partially open door that allows the passerby to catch a reflection of a counterpart or alter-ego living a parallel life. Glimpse leaves us to wonder what else is going on beyond what we can see.

secret on a lazy sunday afternoon

NEW ! Vitra House > Weil am Rhein > Germany

the concept of the 'vitrahaus' connects two themes which are occurring in the architectural practice of herzog & de meuron
the five-storey structure is comprised of 12 'houses' - five houses are set at the base in which seven other houses are stacked upon one another. each of the structural volumes appear as if they have been shaped by an extrusion press and are cantilevered up to 15 metres in some places.
the floor slabs intersect the underlying gables, resulting in a three-dimensional assemblage or 'pile of houses'.
